Mitch Guthrie Jr. and the Polaris RZR Pro R Factory Dominate Vegas to Reno 2025

In one of the closest finishes in Vegas to Reno history, Polaris-supported racer Mitch Guthrie Jr. piloted his RZR Pro R Factory to the UTV overall victory at the 2025 running of the legendary desert race—also claiming second overall among all four-wheeled vehicles. Guthrie’s winning time of 8:19:14 sealed the result by a razor-thin 9 seconds over Can-Am’s Cody Bradbury.
With temperatures soaring above 100°F, racers attacked hundreds of miles of graded gravel, dry lake beds, and rugged mountain terrain at speeds exceeding 110 mph. By race mile 100, Guthrie was in a three-way fight; by mile 450, just 18 seconds separated the lead trio on corrected time. Fellow Polaris driver Cayden MacCachren surged late and physically led near the finish, but on corrected time Guthrie’s relentless push—backed by the RZR Pro R Factory’s durability—carried the day.
The Machine Behind the Win

“The Vegas to Reno course is one of the toughest in the world where our drivers are battling extreme heat, high speeds, brutal terrain, but the RZR Pro R Factory handled it all with incredible confidence and durability,” said Alex Scheuerell, Director of Off-Road Motorsports at Polaris. “Mitch’s ability to navigate such a demanding course was key to the win and a huge validation of the performance and resilience we’ve built into this machine.” Guthrie added, “The RZR Pro R Factory performed flawlessly with zero issues, which gave me the confidence to keep pushing from start to finish.”
