The neodymium magnets feature an array of axially magnetized disc magnets, housed within a steel cup, and encased in black rubber coating, approximately 0.03 inches thick.

The integrated rubber coating protects the magnet against chipping and corrosion, and provides superior slide resistance due to the friction between the rubber and steel surface to which the magnet is attached.
